How To Get Rid Of A Yeast Infection

Question by dollyr0cka: Yeast Infection won’t go away!?
I had the discharge and the odor, all that. Went to the gyno. She did the “whiff test” and looked under the microscope. Said cheerfully, “Oh, it’s just a yeast infection!” Paid $ 7 for a seven-day external cream. The discomfort went away, but after all the cream was out and whatnot, the symptoms didn’t really change, except the odor was less. A few days later, the symptoms are back again. I feel gross. I hate it. What the hell! Any suggestions? I fear continued use of these creams are going to make it resistant to medication. I feel like the medicine didn’t even really work.

Tell your doctor to give you an oral anti-fungal. And make sure you don’t have sex, your partner might re-infect you.

Try Monistat 3 day ovules. They are pretty good. If that doesn’t work go back to your doctor and get a prescription.

Try to get the pill… or if your period is coming that should take care of it. That happened to me once, I did the cream and it just came back, but a few days later I got my period and it took care of it. Good Luck I know how annoying those can be, also eat a lot of yogurt, that helps too.

Oral diflucan is a one-pill which can help. Also drink cranberry juice and lots of water in general. Did the doc tell you about wearing cotton underwear, not using scented soaps etc.? As soon as you feel the symptoms coming on you can wash the area with a salt solution, and a few drops of white vinegar. This makes it feel better, and the acid discourages yeast growth.
Hope this helps. Maybe you should check back the doctor and tell her it didn’t work very well.
Which cream did you get? Canestan can be pretty good if you want to use a cream.
